Despite the fact that more and more kids are raised on empty calories and that somehow they will get by and build healthy brains and bodies on the junk purveyed by the industrialized food suppliers (the folks who make the stuff advertised to kids on TV, attractively packaged in supermarket aisles and sold as “treats” and “fast foods” (including carbonated and sweetened drinks of all sorts), a recent study (one of a gazillion) makes the

Even if the glyphosate is not produced in your body, the foreign DNA and virus bits inserted into the food during the process of genetic modification are not digestible by our enzymes. They wander around and eventually can become parts of your own DNA where they act to produce what are called “novel proteins”. These novel proteins, which have never been produced before in the history of living things, have impacts which are totally unknown. So eating prepared and processed foods, sure to be larded with GMOs, is a sure way to make yourself and your kids part of the largest experiment in human history. Ready to be a guinea pig and pay for the privilege? I thought not.
Neither am I.
Remembering that the FDA permits foods to be marketed once their owner has a patent, WITHOUT ANY SAFETY ASSESSMENT OR TESTING, and also prohibits the labeling of foods which contain GMOs because they know that if you knew they contained GMOs you would not buy them (honest! that is what they actually say!) and remembering that organic foods, while not perfect, may not contain GMOs, my suggestion to you is to eat organic. Yes, it can be more expensive. How much does cancer cost? How about pediatric diabetes? Brain tumors? Lupus? What about the cost of not being able to have a child? Think about the real cost of cheap food one more time and switch to organics, at least for your children.
Here’s a recent study documenting how important protein is for kids. But the study is about natural protein, not the unnatural ones created by genetically modified plants and animals.
The foreign DNA from GMO foods migrates to the genetic material in the nucleus of our cells and inserts itself there. Once there, it moves around from site to site and instructs your own DNA to do things: mostly make proteins which have not been made before in your body (or in anyone’s body). They are called “Novel proteins” and the impact they can have is literally unknown. Eating GMO foods is therefore participating in the largest experiment in human history without any thing like an informed consent form since no one is willing to tell you that you are participating in that experiment by clearly labeling your food (at least in the US) and giving you the chance to participate or eat natural, non GMO food.
In the European Union there is a labeling requirement. In Benin there is a moratorium on GMO foods. Many other countries have policies somewhere in between. Those novel proteins, which the inserted genetic material instructs the cells to make have never before been seen in any living creature. No one knows what they will be (since they can change from cell to cell) or what they can do. They can literally be anything, and do anything, including causing organ damage, infertility, cancer or a host of other, as yet unknown, consequences. Eating these unnatural proteins will certainly have consequences for children. But no one knows what they are. What we can say is that when rat pups are exposed to GM food, most of them die before birth and those that do survive are stunted. Those that survive to adult hood are infertile and their kidneys, intestines, immune systems and other organs are damaged, small and poorly functional. So by all means, feed your kids (and yourself) good protein, not FrankenFood protein.

Smart Kids: High-protein adds points to your child’s IQ
21 February 2008A nutritious diet can make your baby smarter, a new study has discovered. Babies who are given a high-protein diet in their first four weeks have higher IQs by the time they reach adolescence.
Researchers from the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London have discovered the special diet also changes the structure of the brain. It increases the size of the caudate nucleus, which is associated with higher intelligence.
The caudate nucleus has its main growth spurt during the first four weeks following birth.
Although scientists have speculated whether nutrition can influence the caudate nucleus, nobody had tested the theory in a study involving babies. The research team had their opportunity during the 1980s when they gave a standard diet and a high-protein diet to two groups of premature babies.
When they tested the same two groups again when they were adolescents, the researchers discovered that those who had been given a high-protein diet as babies had higher verbal IQ scores, and scans revealed their caudate nucleus was larger.

Brain scans revealed a far higher level of NAA (N-acetylaspartate), a biochemical indicator of brain development.

of course, there is another danger in FrankenFish: they are designed to grow faster and reproduce earlier than their natural fore bearers so once they break out of their netting pens in the ocean (which happens regularly in fish farming, by the way, they can be expected to drive the natural species to extinction: they are bigger, better preditors and reproduce faster so over time, they can be expected to be the only salmon or flounder or whatever remaining.
Right now, anyone who understands nutrition well knows that farmed fish are inferior to wild-caught ones because they are customarily fed grains (which fish did not evolve eating!) and kept in such unhealthy conditions that the cancerous parts of the fish are routinely cut out when they are being processed – and they are found in a huge percentage of fish reared in fish farms. Salmon, for example, reared in fish farms is a grey-ish white color, not the vibrant red we are accustomed to. Since a normal wild diet of smaller prey animals and cold waters give salmon both its robust red color and its omega-3 fatty oils, and farmed fish have nether, these animals are given red food dye to make them acceptable to the unwary consumer. Nothing, however, can give farmed fish the omega-3 fatty acids which confer heart and brain benefits on those who consume wild-caught salmon.

Some say that your communication does not matter. They are wrong. In the press of events and impacts on Congress, Members and their staff actually miss a great deal and, as a long time Senior Aide to a California Representative answered when I asked him how he keeps on top of all the issues and legislation in the Congressional system, “There is no way we can do it by ourselves. We depend on people who care about something to tell us about it and keep us informed about the legislation and the issues!”

On another, related front, natural supplements like DHEA, although protected by DSHEA (the Dietary Supplements Health and Education Act, 1994) which classifies nutrients as foods rather than drugs, are under attack as if they were steroids. Senator Hatch, a long time friend of supplements, defended them once again and the Natural Solutions Foundation is watching. Ralph beat back the FDA when they tried to ban DHEA last time so he is uniquely qualified to report on this battle. And it bears watching, of course, because the piecemeal attack on supplements does not let up. To the Pharma Phriendly FDA, any stick will do to beat a dog and they are determined to beat the natural medicine dog to death since it steals thAnd then there’s the problem of an out-of-control FDA. Yesterday, according to the AP, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), who heads an investigative panel that conducts oversight of the agency, said in an interview with The Associated Press that FDA Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach should step down because ‘it’s just a total lack of leadership.’ Stupak, chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, said he had lost confidence in the commissioner and other top FDA officials over the handling of inspections and oversight by the agency.â€
We agree and have been meeting with Congress for months on these issues. Can we take credit for this position by the Congressman? We cannot be not sure, but our boots on the ground certainly have helped to bring about this crisis in Congressional confidence in the FDA.
Take for example the FDA policy (which they have foisted on Codex and are implementing in the US as well) of criminalizing your right to communicate about, or use, the health benefits foods confer. Remember the FDA 2007 CAM Guidance setting up the FDA’s “right” to turn any food used for health purposes into “an untested drug” (like cherry juice, since it is good for arthritis)? The Natural Solutions Foundation found out from the FDA Receiver of Dockets that paper comments (e.g., letters) were not tabulated, only archived at the FDA Reading Room, and that the FDA website was “broken†and could not accept comments. Two Natural Solutions Foundation Trustees called the FDA Receiver of Dockets and persuaded her to give us HER email address so our supporters could let the FDA know how they felt about this Guidance. That meant that the Natural Solutions Foundation website was the only electronic means available in the US to submit comments to the FDA on this wildly misguided Guidance. Five hundred and eighty eight thousand Natural Solutions Foundation supporters visited our site to tell the FDA just how bad an idea they thought their Guidance was.

When you change the way the ‘forces that be’ control you and the society you live in, you know your strategy is working when you get attacked, impersonated and are the target of sustained (and skillful) disinformation. While it is not pleasant to be attacked, if the attacks follow a particular pattern, it gives you powerful confirmation that you are on the right track and that what you are doing is having an impact. That’s what appears to be happening with Natural Solutions Foundation!
The Four Classic Disinformation Drains: Deceit, Deflection, Distortion, Defamation
For example, I recently got an email accusing the Natural Solutions Foundation of opposing licensing of Naturopaths in Virginia. We take no such position, of course. The person who wrote it said he was a strong supporter of ours until we took that position. Turns out that we never said any such thing (I really believe in Naturopathy) and that it was another, similarly titled group that was opposing it. He said that a lot of his friends who used to be our supporters had “joined the bandwagon against Natural Solutions Foundation”.
In his letter of apology for thinking we were really the bad guys, my correspondent said, “Unfortunately a lot of friends of mine got the email and joined the bandwagon opposing [Natural Solutions Foundation] without realizing what they were opposing. The gist of the email was that if naturopaths were licensed, they would have a monopoly on supplements, etc….”
Of course we did not write any such thing! Ever since we became the leading voice of health freedom, the Natural Solutions Foundation has been attacked with a variety of spurious, specious and just downright silly allegations. It’s called “Disinformation” and it’s a classic way to disrupt an effective force for change. The idea is to destroy confidence and credibility by a continuing stream of smear, deceit, innuendo and lies of all kinds.
The intent is to drain funding, and energy it takes to respond to the disinformation and, ultimately, drain credibility – the “Death by a Thousand Cuts”.
The Natural Solutions Foundation has no intention of dying, however, whether by cuts or cold or croup or anything else. I recently noted with great interest that someone has set up an “organization” and an eBlast that looks a lot like ours, claiming to be a health freedom communication fighting for your rights and asking you for money.
Now, it is fine to set up organizations and seek funding. In fact, the more people fighting the health freedom battle, the better. But in this case, imitation may be the sincerest form of … disinformation. It looks to me like the idea is to siphon off much needed funding by pretending to be the Natural Solutions Foundation!
Let’s face it: funding is the limiting factor in the health freedom battle. Sufficient funding allows us to do our work. This “organization” (and the other disinformation circulating about us) tries to make it seem as if what we are doing is driven by fraudulent motives, or worse!
At the same time, a person claiming to be both angry and a scientist has been savaging us in the blogisphere. That is very odd because virtually every response we get in the blogosphere is strongly positive. This person’s not only unfriendly, he (or she) is downright libelous!
Here is a note which our counsel, Ralph Fucetola, just sent me a few minutes ago on this very issue:
“Well, Rima, we must be doing something right, since some shady characters and some “quackbuster” skeptic types have recently targeted us. I note we were scammed by a pro, by the King of Online Spam, as this person is frequently called. At the same time, we’ve been attacked by someone who calls himself ” the Angry…” something or other. Interestingly, there may be a link between these two events!
“So, first to the scam: the security of our list appears to have been breeched. We are, of course, taking strong legal action to prevent further damage and to compel the King of Spam to refrain from any further use of our list. After all, we have the members of our community to protect and we are doing exactly that.
When [deleted] came to us last year offering to help our health freedom fight, he was both sincere-seeming, knowledgeable and helpful. He even helped us design the format we often still use for our eblasts. He gave us this design service as a gift and we certainly appreciated it. In fact, the design he is using now was an earlier version of our email blast which we have the rights to!
We believed we could trust this person so we eventually gave him access to our web site and to our list in order to, he said, “help us out…” with communication strategies to help us get our message out more effectively. Then we discovered to our horror that he was apparently keeping a large amount of money for himself that one of our supporters was contributing and keeping money people paid for products they purchased through the Natural Solutions Foundation. We were really distressed. The purchasers got their product (we never got the money, of course), the merchant was badly hurt and we, of course, immediately cut [deleted] completely out of our lives.
That was, more or less, the last we heard from him – until now. This took place shortly before the Holidays last year. Now, though, we see he has a “new health freedom group”, an “alliance”, out there, with eblasts very similar to ours, sent, we fear, to an earlier copy of our elist. This “new group” has nothing to do with us.”
Ralph asked me to let you know that “While the Natural Solutions Foundation has set up Yahoo!Group forums and are working with a very special group of health and freedom advocates to create a lobbying Health Freedom Strategic Alliance uniting the vitamin industry with health freedom advocates, we have NOT authorized any spin-off or “look alike” groups. Please let your friends know that if anyone receives suspicious information that counterfeits our efforts, we need to know. It would help us greatly if people would forward whatever you get from this other group to us at dr.laibow@gmail.com .”
Then Ralph goes on to say, “Back to the second event, the “Angry” person. Natural Solutions Foundation is often cited on blogs in a favorable light; those references are reported to us by our web host and we always post our thanks. Well, the Angry man is upset with two sentences from your landmark video,’Nutricide: the DVD‘ (https://staging.drrimatruthreports.com/index.php?page_id=156), which exposes the genocidal results of the Illness Industry. Hundreds of thousands have seen it on Google Video and I suppose it was inevitable that eventually someone would fail to get the point and try to waste our time nitpicking – or worse. AND there is a strong, but unconfirmed, indication on Angry’s blog that he is working with Mr. Spam King! [You can watch “Nutricide on our website, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org– REL]
So we are being attacked by someone who impugns our veracity and says that because HE cannot find something in the huge mass of Codex documents (and maybe does not know how to read the ‘bureaucratese’) what you said is somehow false, a lie, a deception, a fraud. Not logical, this, but perhaps he is driven by some other motivation. Oddly, perhaps, Mr. Angry has also blogged about a forced chemotherapy drugging case in CA. We’ve learned that there appears to be a connection between that case and the [deleted]. What is going on here? It sure has me perplexed.
What I do know though, is that we appear to have been had. The lesson is clear: only trust people like you and General Bert who have been in the struggle for decades.
Disinformation and deception come in a surprising variety of flavors and they all taste very bitter!”
Natural Solutions Foundation’s privacy policy is clear, and is clearly stated on our website: we NEVER sell, rent, barter or share our email list. NEVER.
What we did not account for was having a trusted person in our midst who may have decided to use our list for his own purposes.
