Codex Allows Seven Deadly Pesticides Banned by Stockholm Convention and US Law
A smoking gun in the hand of an enraged man who is looking down at the inert corpse bleeding at his feet is the next best evidence to actually seeing the perpetrator pull the trigger. All of us who understand Codex as a threat (rather than the supposed “consumer protection” creature its apologists claim that it is) know that Codex is a sandbox in which the multinational corporations play their greed need games with no concern for the well-being of those who will pay the price in every coin. Those of use without our own illegal cattle, milk and supplements farms and factories will have no choice but to eat the food Codex has adulterated. We won’t have the nutrients we need when our natural health choices have disappeared because Codex has “protected” us from the “toxic nutrients” we used to take to keep our selves healthy.
What would you say if I told you that I had found Codex’s smoking gun, Codex’s dirtiest secret which is so foul that it makes clear just how far from a consumer protection system Codex is? Consumer protection like the Turks had in 1954-59 when they ate food grown from seeds containing Hexachlorobenzene and 95% of the children who were exposed in the womb died? Or protection like older people got when 14% of them died from the poison. Well, guess what! Hexachlorobenzene is but one of the seven deadly toxins Codex will let the Big Chema poison you with.
Well, we found the smoking gun. But how many consumers must it kill before we take the gun out of the madman’s hand?
If you are like me, you would both rejoice and come close to speechless frustration and outrage at the same time. How could “they” do this? What are they thinking” Where do they think they will raise their grandchildren?
Click here for Codex’s dirty secret: Codex permits 7 of the 9 most deadly chemicals known, all of which are illegal in the US and all of which have been banned by every member of Codex from being used anywhere on the planet.
The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants agreed upon a list of the 12 most poisonous chemicals in the world and 176 countries banned them. The US banned them, too. But Codex has a better idea (Smoking gun coming right up). Instead of protecting consumers, Codex says, “Let’s set dangerous pesticide and real toxic residue levels really, really high and let’s pretend that nutrients are toxins (so we can “protect” consumers from food without them, of course) and, best of all, [cock the trigger back: smoke coming up], we will, despite a global ban on the worst chemicals possible, will ignore all of that and pull the trigger!”
“We, Codex, will allow seven of the nine deadliest, nearly universally banned, pesticides known to human kind to be used on your foods! Allow us to protect you, dear consumer, at the point of a smoking gun!”
If we let our Congress know that we are on to Codex and the multinational corporations that are driving Codex and, in fact, pulling the trigger on the smoking gun, we can change the course of history and avoid eating foods poisoned with the seven deadly pesticides.

In 2001, the International Community did something right. The came together and created the Stockholm Convention, devoted to removing the 12 deadliest compounds polluting our world. These horrors are all members of the same class of compounds, Persistent Organic Pollutants or POPs. Within a short time every member of the United Nations, including the US, had either signed or ratified (or both) this agreement. They had committed themselves to getting rid of these incredibly dangerous chemicals. These chemicals have names like aldrin, chlordane, dieldrin, DDT, endrin, heptachlor, hexachlorobenzene, mirex, toxaphene, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, and furans. These chemical are extremely widely used and, among the hundreds of thousands of bad chemicals which disrupt endocrine function, lead to birth defects and cancers, cause serious harm to the environment in every corner of the globe, accumulate in food and degrade the ability of people to lead long, healthy lives, these are the worst of the worst.
The report on POPs in Chile starts with a quote: “The future will depend on our wisdom not to replace one poison with another.” Well, as lovely as that sentiment is, it never reached the people in Codex land. Of the 12 worst POPs in the world, 9 are pesticides. Of those widely used, and wildly toxic POPs, 7, yes, 7, have are permitted by Codex in our food. Sure, you can put these poisons on crops: no problem. Codex has set allowable pesticide residues for 7 of them.
Do any of those names sound familiar to you? How about Aldrin and Dieldrin? They are bio-concentrated by children eating the apple a day we used to eat to keep the Doctor away. Have you ever had your house treated for termites with a foundation treatment? Then you probably already know chlordane pretty well since you’ve been breathing it for a while. How about apples and Aldrin? Heptachlor? The official heptachlor fact sheet says that it should not be permitted to enter the environment and that it is really toxic to people, the aquatic environment and fish. But Codex says we can put it on our food. How about Mirex? It’s been described as “one of the most chronically toxic and slowly degrading compounds ever produced on an industrial scale” But it’s OK to use on food. Codex tells me so.
Can’t you see the hand of the Big Chema in this one? Industry-friendly Codex must have been all too happy to agree to the standards they were asked for by their Big Chema handlers. And the workers who use these pesticides which are so deadly that every member of the UN has agreed to end their use and ban them? And we, who will eat the food from all over the world contaminated with this deadly brew (and hundreds of other poisons? What happens to us and our children and our other loved ones when our food is contaminated with compounds so deadly that every single country in the UN has decided they are too dangerous to use?
But wait! The World Trade Organization uses Codex standards in trade dispute resolution. What happens if a country elects to follow the Stockholm Convention Guidelines and not the Codex ones? Trade sanctions for protecting your people from poisons? What kind of madness are we observing unfold when the interest of industry overwhelms the entire international community’s will?
Is this what we want for ourselves? If not, take action. Go to our legislative action page and let Congress know what is important to you. I’ll bet not one member of Congress has thought about the conflict between the Stockholm Convention and Codex. Tell them. Better yet, make an appointment and take a bunch of your friends to go see your Congressmen and women in their local offices (or in DC if you’d like) and let them know that people with faces and families, voices and votes are rallying around health and health freedom. “Work with us and maybe we’ll let you go back to Congress. Oppose us and your DC days are over. We are the people and we are that strong!”

“Nutraceuticide”: The Death of Nutritional Medicine
To understand why Codex equals the death of nutritional medicine, let me introduce you to a new word: Nutraceutraceuticid, (new truh sue tih side):
1. The death of individuals and populations through intentional restriction of vital nutrients to sub-clinical doses in the presence of a massively adulterated food supply
2. The death of the nutritional health profession through limitation of supplemental nutrients to a small number of ultra low dose materials with no biological effect in the presence of a massively adulterated food supply
3. The termination of natural health options and strategies by criminalizing the means and materials necessary for those strategies
Nutriceuticide is rapidly being put in place by Codex Alimentarius (Latin for “Food Rules”) which classifies nutrients as toxins from which we need protection (!) inappropriately using Risk Assessment (a branch of toxicology) to determine permitted nutrient doses so low that, by design, they have no impact on any human being.
Codex ratified the restrictive Vitamin and Mineral Guideline July 4, 2005 (Rome) which, when globally enacted, is expected to result in the death of at least 3 billion people according to the World Health Organization and Food and Agriculture Organization (WHO/FAO) estimates. At the same time, clean, unadulterated food (free of pesticides, exogenous growth hormones, veterinary drugs, irradiation and genetic modification) will be unavailable and actually illegal! Information which includes health benefits associated with nutrients would be forbidden.
Although the US is currently protected by laws which prevent us from “HARMonizing” with standards like these, these protective laws are under significant legislative attack. Equally chilling, clinically effective doses of nutritional supplements will no longer be legal once the United States is “HARMonized” with Codex Alimentarius.
Created in 1962 as a UN trade commission, Codex Alimentarius sets World Trade Organization (WTO) trade sanction-enforced global standards for everything ingested: crops, animal food, animal feed, processed food, nutrients, water, etc. These regulations clearly serve the interests of multinational Bigs: Big Pharma, Big Agribiz, Big Chema, Big Biotechna and Big Medica.
Codex permits pesticide and toxin residues which are incompatible with human health and longevity, mandates food irradiation, antibiotic and hormone treatment of food animals (and Monsanto rBGH in all dairy cattle world wide), while declaring that nutrients are toxins. As toxins, they are restricted to daily dosages determined by Risk Assessment (toxicology) to have no impact on any human, no matter how sensitive. These nutrient restrictions (in conjunction with an adulterated food supply) serve to guarantee a steady market for pharmaceuticals. Nutritional strategies for health will be both unavailable and illegal.
If Codex implementation is permitted to take place, it spells the death of nutritional health strategies.
What can we do?
1. Write Congress with a personalized letter telling them why you treasure your health freedom and how they need to support it.
2. Organize your friends and visit your Congressional delegates. Tell them to oppose the pro-illness legislation before them (and the many more to follow). Write them a follow up letter after you see them.
3. Help everyone you know to take steps 1 and 2 above. Use the internet! It works.
4. Listen to FREE US/FREE US!, the Voice of Health Freedom ™ live every Wednesday 7 -8 PM (Eastern) on Internet radio If the time isn’t good, for you, listen on the archives when the time is ripe. But please do listen.

Susan Davis has introduced a bill into the US House of Representatives that can harm you and those you love. HR 3156 gives the FDA (not known as a pro-health organization in the best of times) astonishing power to take nutrients out of the market place if there is ANY risk associated with their use even if no harm has been caused by them and despite any benefit they may confer. It sets up a wildly non-level playing field by creating an Adverse Events reporting requirement for nutrients (which are known to be astonishingly safe and free of risk or complication) while there is no such reporting requirement or system for pharmaceuticals (which are the 3rd leading cause of death in the US when used according to instructions!
And the bill would cost $5M per year. You are supposed to pay for it not only with your tax dollars, but also by giving up your health rights conferred by the 1994 Dietary Supplements Health and Education Act (DSHEA) passed by unanimous consent by Congress!
HR 3156 also specifically excludes vitamins and minerals from the things it covers. Why? Because the CODEX Vitamin and Mineral Guideline was due to be passed in just a few days after Susan introduced it into the House so there was no need to fuss with them: it was already a done deal!
There is a vast body of biochemistry and nutritional literature which makes it clear what the consequences of passing HR 3156 are. If allowed to become law in the US, HR 3156 will
Obviously, the first order of legislative business for any health conscious person is to contact your Congressional Delegation and make sure that they understand that voting for this bill (or any of its twins that are sure to come down the pike) WILL be the end of their political career . And, oh by the way, this atrocity also needs to signal the end the careers of its co-sponsors, Waxman of California and Dingell of Michigan as well.
But stop for a minute to consider the following interesting question:
Whose store is the personable and warm-and-fuzzy Ms Davis minding? Whom is she serving at her table? Obviously not you and I!
Susan Davis was elected to the US House of Representatives from California’s 53rd District. She has been involved in public service for years, first in her lovely home town of San Diego and then as a member of the California State Assembly.
Here is what her official web site has to say about Susan:
Susan’s interest in public affairs grew out of her experiences as a social worker, parent, youth mentor, and military spouse. Growing up, Susan remembered her father, a pediatrician, sometimes leaving the house in the middle of the night to care for his young patients. Through these life experiences, Susan developed an understanding of and deep commitment to improving her community and country.
Dr. Laibow notes: the logic of that escapes me but, hey, who am I to question deep commitment to improving someone’s community and country?
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Susan grew up in Richmond, California. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in sociology. She then earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina.
After graduation, Susan and her husband, Steve, lived in Japan with their two children, Jeffery and Benjamin, while Steve served as a doctor in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Residents of San Diego since 1972, Susan and Steve have been married for 38 years. They have two grandchildren, Henry and Jane.
So we have nice lady with a long marriage and a public spirit serving her district in the House.
Altogether, Susan Davis sounds like a nice lady with a public spirit and a devotion to doing the right thing, doesn’t she? And, for all I know, maybe she is. Maybe on the private levels she is a terrific mom and grandmother and, for all I know, grows beautiful roses and gives great dinner parties, too! So the issue is not whether Susan Davis is a nice person or not. The question that your health and that of your family hangs on is, whose work is Susan doing? Just whose health is Susan Davis protecting? I believe I have the answer for you.
So why would friendly, warm and ever-so-human Susan (who understands the high personal cost of illness from her physician father and husband’s professional lives) introduce a bill designed to gut DSHEA and guarantee increased human suffereing? After all, her bio says that she is interested in health. She probably is interested in the nutrition of her children and grand children, too.
But why would that bill get introduced into the House of Representatives on June 30, 2005, just days before the CODEX ALIMENTARIUS Commission was set to adopt the restrictive and pro-illness Vitamin and Mineral Guideline? And why would that bill specifically exclude vitamins and minerals since the FDA says that CODEX has no impact on domestic law?
Well, let’s see what sort of a district Susan represents. In addition to the lovely Torrey Pines State Reserve, Sea World and Balboa Park, here’s who lives in her neighborhood and who’s coming to dinner at Susan’s well laid table:
The San Diego metropolitan area is a leader in biomedical research and development, with a significant concentration of research institutions and biotechnology firms — such as Salk Institute, Scripps Research Institute, and the University of California San Diego.
There are more than 1,400 life scientists working in the region, three biological institutions granting life science PhDs. One of these institutions is ranked among the top 20 nationally in life sciences research.
The San Diego area has 33 publicly traded biotech companies and includes 31 firms with more than 100 employees. Sixty-one of these firms are members of the national Biotechnology Industry Association.
Visit often as the latest pharmaceutical jobs in San Diego can be found at sandiego.hirerx.com
But wait! There’s more! According to ColorBasePair, in lovely San Diego there are 72 pharmaceutical firms, 11 more in nearby La Jolla, and that’s just for starters! So Susan’s table is serving up a royal feast for Big Pharma. That’s whose health she’s taking care of!
Big Pharma is, of course, not in the business of keeping you or your loved ones healthy. Although much of the raw materials for your nutrients is produced by Big Pharma or its subsidiaries (and often distributed by them, too), all that nutrition stuff is bad for business because it can solve health problems at the root, making drugs to cover symptoms unnecessary. The scientific literature and clinical experience, as well as common sense, make the point clearly: when people have ample, or better yet, optimal levels of nutrients they simply do not develop the chronic, degenerative diseases which are the result of long-term toxicity (from our polluted air, water, and food) and under-nutrition. But these chronic degenerative diseases are where the money is for the pharmaceutical industry.
As is usually the case, follow the money.
Take macular degeneration (MD), for example. When I graduated from Medical School in 1970, by definition MD never afflicted anyone younger than 60 and was very rare in people under 65. Besides, MD was pretty uncommon. Today, we have an epidemic of MD (now the leading cause of blindness in the US). I have personally seen a family in which an 18 year old daughter and their 21 year old son had both lost their sight to MD! It has become commonplace in people in their 40’s and is often seen in 30 year olds. Why the change? Very simple:
chronic under-nutrition leading to changes which the body lacks the nutritional tools to correct. Damage accumulates and one more blind victim of nutritional scarcity struggles to get through life in the dark. Food in our society is plenty. However, because most of it is now processed, in terms of nutritional content, our food is literally starving our cells.
But, like all of the other diseases of chronic under-nutrition, there are drugs for MD. They don’t work particularly well and they are VERY expensive, but there they are and more are in the pipeline.
Now, if you are a drug company and you are going to spend the better part of a billion dollars developing a drug for something and getting it approved for market, don’t you want a lot of that something around so you can sell a lot of your drug? There you have the pharmaceutical reality, plain and simple:
Or, in practical terms: Let’s make sure that CODEX ALIMENTARIUS supports our business world wide and, here in the US at least, let’s go have dinner at Susan’s table!
What can you and I do?
Make sure HR 3156 (and the others like it that will be introduced) never gets passed. Protect DSHEA and tell Congress that you take this issue seriously enough to make sure that health defenders will go back to Congress and Big Pharma friends will not be re-elected.
Please send this letter to Congress about Susan’s HR 3156. Sending the letter is very easy and takes only a minute or two.
Do it now, if you care at all about health freedom.

Health Pearl Harbor signals Domestic War on Health Freedom!
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Those of you who have declared that the restrictive and anti-health CODEX Vitamin and Mineral Guideline (accepted on July 4, 2005 in Rome by CODEX with US support ) will have no impact on domestic nutrients, the wellness industry, natural medicine and personal health choices are wrong. Dead wrong! That’s “DEAD” as in war. That’s dead as in dead from the increased cancer, diabetes, degenerative neurological conditions (including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS) which would result from the elimination of health choices right here in the good old USA! That’s unnecessary and preventable illness and death which will do only Big Pharma and Big Medica good and will cost you and your family your health and health freedom.
“Wait”, you may still be saying, “NNFA (Natural Nutritional Foods Assocation) and the FDA and the US CODEX Office and CRN (Council for Responsible Nutrition) have all told us that CODEX does not apply domestically so we have nothing to worry about!” Well, ladies and gentlemen, if you are still saying that and, worse, you believe it, listen up! Here is the game plan unless you and everyone you know wakes up and takes action: Having passed the pro-illness Vitamin and Mineral Guideline with strong US policy support to do so, the pro-illness forces have begun the onslaught to take away your access to the high potency nutrients which will keep you from developing the highly profitable, and misery-inducing diseases of chronic under-nutrition.
Take a look at the first piece of legislation in the assault HR 3156) and be afraid, very afraid. This astonishingly destructive legislation, introduced by Susan Davis of California and cosponsored by Dingle of Michigan and Waxman of California allows the Secretary of Health and Human Services (which contains the FDA) to remove nutrients from the market place if there is a risk, no matter how tiny, of any harm to anyone even if that risk has never occurred. It allows the Secretary of HHS to remove nutrients if they might have been associated with an adverse event and require the reporting of any possible adverse event associated with a nutrient and its investigation by the reporter. Note, the playing field is nowhere near level, folks: drugs have no adverse event reporting system, NONE. Let me say that again for those of you who might have become so mind boggled by that fact that you skipped over it: DRUGS HAVE NO REQUIRED ADVERSE EVENT REPORTING SYSTEM EVEN IN THE CASE OF DEATH.
So what is being proposed is the opportunity to manipulate make believe data (adverse event reports which may not be connected with the supplement blamed) about make believe problems (toxicity of nutrients which are exceptionally safe and helpful to even the most fragile people) about make believe toxins (nutrients are not toxic: they cannot induce death so the dose at which 50% of the test animals die, the LD 50, cannot be determined. By definition, they are therefore not toxic.) I know, it seems silly to non-toxicologists, but the consequences of this distinction are significant: if you cannot classify a compound as a toxin, then the use of Risk Assessment to determine a safe dose for it makes no sense. Risk Assessment is a technique that toxicologists use to determine what dose of this potentially lethal stuff can be allowed because it causes no discernable impact on people or animals. In other words, if you use Risk Assessment to determine doses of nutrients, there will be no biological effect at that dose, none! And you guarantee under nutrition if it is not adequately supplied by your diet.
Ready for something else really interesting? HR 3165 excludes vitamins and minerals! SO? So the work is already done on them: CODEX approved the pro-illness Vitamin and Mineral Guideline last week which is going to do the heavy lifting there: no need to waste the effort on them here in the US. Does that chill your enthusiasm for the accuracy of the NNFA, CRN, FDA, IADSA position that the actions of CODEX have no domestic impact? If not, you either work for them in their PR departments or you should.
I have a friend who told me that in Australia, as soon as the Trans Tasman Agreement had harmonized with CODEX ALIMENTARIUS long before the Vitamin and Mineral Guideline was passed last week, the protective legislation that Australians relied upon to give them access to their natural health products (like our DSHEA legislation) were quickly and efficiently annihilated. The execution team had been waiting in the wings and, at the signal, swept in before the opposition (the consumers) could begin to get organized. I have previously said that we would need to be alert to the same threat. And here it is! The first wave of the post VMG domestic assault on our rights as Americans to make, market and purchase high potency nutrients is here and its name is HR 3156. It will not be the last: this is a salvo, not the war itself.
Let’s talk about war, shall we, since we are now fighting what I call “The Vitamin Wars”. No one ever won a war on the defensive. Wars are won on the offensive.
Right now, the European Court of Justice has declared that Vitamins and Minerals (and other nutrients, too, in a short time) will be limited to those on a “Positive List” unless they are approved as to dose and source through a process initiated by the submission of an astonishingly expensive dossier or file on that nutrient from that particular source at that particular dose. In the UK, the government has created a pot of money to help defray the cost of these dossier submissions. Because they had to be submitted by July 12 of this year (the same day, coincidentally, that the ECJ ruled in favor of the European Food Supplements Directive and against health freedom in the EU), by yesterday nearly 500 dossiers had been submitted for consideration. Until they are approved or rejected, they may still be sold in the EU. That means that for some time, at least, those items will be available and the August 1 disaster has been softened, if not averted. Good news, right? Well, sort of, if you like defensive postures. The other items, not the subject of dossiers, will be pulled on August 1. And the dossier items? Well, if they succeed in winning a so-called “derogation” or exception, they will be sold until … December 31, 2009! At that point, all such derogations become irrelevant and we are back to the pro-illness situation where only the risk-assessed, ultra low level nutrients are permitted anyway.
Clearly, this defensive struggle must be fought, but it cannot be won.
The way you win a war is by going on the offensive and staying there. Those of you who have been reading my blogs and the Natural Solutions Foundation site and listening to our live radio show, FREE U.S./FREE US!, Wednesdays at 7-8 PM eastern time know that we are an action-oriented organization. There is a reason for being action-oriented: that’s how you win wars. In a war, if you apply the Principles of War and follow them you have a high likelihood of winning. The first Principle of War is OBJECTIVE: Protect, defend and expand Health Freedom in the United States and globally. The second Principle of War is OFFENSIVE. Find it, occupy it and stay there.
When you go to the Six Easy Steps on our site today, you will find a new letter to Congress (if you have already carried out the Six Easy Steps, then you can go straight to the new letter). The new letter outlines the dangers of the health assault in HR 3156 and the other bills like it to come and tells Congress that there is a committed and determined army of health freedom advocates who will do whatever democracy allows them to do, including removing members of Congress from office who do not protect their rights. Send it to your Congressional Delegation. Follow all of the other steps, too, and send the site to everyone you know.
Don’t forget the donation step. We have no other way of supporting this fight besides your support. We are fighting this together and your donations are our lifeblood. We appreciate the small donation and the large one equally. But consider this: what will it mean to you and your family, your business and your well-being if we falter? Why not make a pledge to the Natural Solutions Foundation for a monthly level of support which you can sustain and which you feel matches the importance of this fight.
We are at war. There is no way to win a war except to gain the offensive position and exploit it. In the coming days we will be doing that together.
